“Looking to Jesus, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” – Hebrews 12:2
The Christian brothers, Wilber and Orville Wright were the “founders” of powered flight, but, more than a century later, the technology of aviation is still being perfected. The IDF (Israeli Defense Force) has taken the American made F-35, the most advanced fighter jet in the world, and enhanced it with their own improvements. Israel can now easily strike Iran’s nuclear facilities before they even detect any intrusion into their air space. What advancements the future may bring to powered flight are anyone’s guess.
Jesus was not only the Founder of Christianity, but also it’s Perfecter. That means there is no guesswork when we are following Him, and there is no way to improve upon the faith “once (and for all time) delivered to the saints”! 2000 years later we are not worshiping any better than the original Christian community did. If you want to know how to do church better, you don’t need to look to any modern gadgets or methods; look no further than Jesus! And, by the way, Jesus is Perfect! There is no one beyond Him to look at. No one can improve on perfection.
